This market resolves YES if the Federal Reserve's Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) announces a reduction to the federal funds rate target range at its next scheduled meeting following market creation. The reduction must be a formal decision announced in the FOMC's official statement released immediately after the meeting concludes. A cut is defined as a lowering of the upper bound of the target range by at least 0.25 percentage points (25 basis points). The resolution source is the official FOMC statement published on the Federal Reserve's website (federalreserve.gov). A consensus of major financial news outlets (Bloomberg, Reuters, Wall Street Journal, CNBC) reporting the FOMC decision may also be used. Mere speculation, forward guidance, or statements of intent by Fed officials do not qualify; only the formal announced decision counts. A pause (no change to rates) or a rate increase does not qualify and resolves NO.
